How to properly disconnect cables from a distribution box

Always turn off power, verify circuits are de-energized, and safely cap or remove cables when disconnecting from a distribution box.

Safety First

2. Loosen terminal screws: Use a torque screwdriver to carefully loosen the screws on the terminal blocks or busbars holding the cables .

4. Cap unused wires: For any disconnected hot or neutral wires, use wire nuts or insulated caps to prevent accidental contact . Ensure the ground wire remains properly terminated or isolated.

Cable Management
