1. Design and Engineering

The production process begins with rack design, which defines the form factor (e.g., 19-inch standard, 42U server racks), load capacity, cooling requirements, and cable management features. Engineers use CAD software to create detailed 3D models, ensuring compatibility with servers, switches, and other IT equipment. Custom racks may include specialized shelves, power distribution units (PDUs), or modular trays for specific applications like AV systems or high-performance computing clusters .

2. Material Selection

High-quality steel or aluminum sheets are chosen for structural strength and durability. For lightweight or portable racks, aluminum is preferred, while steel is used for heavy-duty server racks. Surface treatments such as powder coating or galvanization are applied to prevent corrosion and improve aesthetics.

3. Fabrication

  • Electrical safety tests for integrated PDUs
  • Thermal and airflow testing for racks with active cooling High-end racks may also be tested for vibration resistance and cable management efficiency, ensuring reliability in data centers or AV installations .

6. Packaging and Shipping

After passing quality control, racks are disassembled partially if needed, packaged with protective materials, and shipped to customers or data centers. Large-scale deployments may involve pre-configured multi-rack systems ready for rapid installation .
