  • Reduce friction and wear, ensuring smooth cable movement during installation . In overhead installations, pulleys are often used in conjunction with sagging systems to maintain proper cable alignment and tension along poles or masts . For underground or pre-buried cables, pulleys can be integrated into trench-based devices to prevent bending at the entry and exit points of protective conduits .

Design Considerations

  • Rotating pulleys are commonly used to allow the cable to move freely while maintaining alignment. The position of the pulley seat can be adjusted according to trench depth or overhead height to prevent sharp bends .
  • Protective housings or semicircular tubes may be used in combination with pulleys to shield the cable from mechanical damage and environmental exposure .
