Preparatory Work

Mounting the Distribution Box

2. Install the fixing bracket: Secure a strong, vibration-resistant bracket according to design specifications .

Installing Waterproof Connectors

1. Prepare cable entry points: Pierce pre-molded knockout holes at the bottom or sides of the box for incoming and outgoing cables .
2. Install liquid-tight cable glands: Insert the cable through the gland, ensuring the gland compresses the cable outer diameter by 10–15% to prevent water penetration .
3. Tighten the gland: Use a wrench to secure the gland without over-tightening, which could damage the cable or compromise the seal .
4. Seal connections: Apply silicone or neutral-cure sealant around the gland if required for additional protection, ensuring no gaps remain .

Internal Wiring and Grounding

1. Mount internal components: Attach DIN rails, circuit breakers, and terminal blocks to the internal mounting plates, maintaining at least 15 mm clearance for heat dissipation .
2. Connect cables: Strip wires carefully, connect according to design, and secure with wire connectors. Test each connection for firmness .
3. Grounding: Connect the main grounding wire to the internal brass earth terminal block to ensure electrical safety .

Final Checks

1. Close the lid: Ensure the gasket is fully compressed and the stainless steel latches are evenly tightened to maintain the IP rating .
2. Inspect for gaps: Verify that all cable glands, knockouts, and seals are properly installed to prevent moisture ingress .
3. Test the system: Use a multimeter to confirm proper electrical connections and grounding before energizing the box .
