A pre-embedded distribution box should be installed level, securely embedded in the wall, properly grounded, and supported to ensure safety, accessibility, and long-term reliability.

Preparation and Storage

Before installation, disassemble the box cover and panel, mark them for storage, and store according to installation sequence to prevent damage or paint peeling. Numbering the components ensures correct placement during installation . Ensure the installation site is dry, accessible, and at the correct height—typically 1.5m from the ground for the box bottom edge, and at least 1.8m for the distribution board installation panel .

Embedding and Positioning

  • Place the box flat and vertical, with a deviation of no more than 3mm, ensuring the panel edges are flush with the wall and not recessed or protruding .
  • For boxes wider than 500mm, install concrete lintels on top; for widths over 300mm, use reinforced brick lintels to prevent pressure damage .
  • Fill the surrounding space with cement mortar to secure the box firmly .
  • For wall-mounted boxes, drill bolt holes or embed wood bricks as needed, and knock out holes for cable entry according to actual requirements .

Securing and Leveling

  • For cabinet-style distribution boxes, place them on the foundation steel sections according to construction drawings. Adjust verticality and levelness using pad irons (maximum three pieces) and fasten firmly with bolts .
  • After adjustment, fasten the cabinet body to the foundation steel and ensure all panels are aligned and level .

Grounding and Electrical Connections

  • Connect each cabinet panel to the foundation steel using copper wire, adding a spring washer to prevent loosening .
  • Each cabinet door should be connected to the PE row with a copper braided wire for reliable grounding .
  • Connect the busbar at the top of the cabinet, applying neutral Vaseline to contact surfaces, and ensure proper phase alignment and clearance from other devices .

Finishing and Protection

  • Coat the outer wall of the box with anti-corrosion paint for parts in contact with the wall or structures .
  • Ensure the box is level with the painting layer and not skewed. Support the box during initial installation to prevent damage from wall brick load or terminal electrical box installation .
  • Label circuits and maintain neat cable management for future inspections and maintenance .

Safety and Compliance

  • Follow local electrical codes (NEC, IEC, or regional standards) and use UL/CE-certified components .
  • Perform visual checks and multimeter tests before powering on .
  • Schedule regular inspections and maintenance to ensure long-term reliability . By following these steps, a pre-embedded distribution box can be installed safely, securely, and in compliance with construction and electrical standards, ensuring both operational efficiency and durability.
